108 Sun Salutations @ Mykonos Kapari Beach 20.07.16 Full Moon Challenge

The 108 Sun Salutations took place at Kapari Beach on July 20th.

Our teacher, Fenia Vracha, welcomed us to the beach. We placed our mats on the ground and prepared for the challenge, following her instructions. She held the Japa Mala rosary, with 108 beads. Every bead represented a greeting.

We saluted the sun and celebrated the coming of a new era that brought the light of the full moon.  No matter how strong the wind blew, we continued to reach the “finish line”, our need to become “giants” of another world, full of confidence, courage, strength, which will make us wiser!

Our eyes  fixed on the full moon, with respect and gratitude. A little further on, there were the improvised paper bags of Anna Gerontakis from “Anna’s Home”, filled with sand and lights… like “bright souls”.

On July 20th, we “competed” and got our “medals”, a hanky, on which Fenia had written “108 Sun Salutations”. A proof, a memento, to remind us that we completed our challenge coming out strong and victorious!

Finally,we added one more salutation to the 108 , the 109th … we all made a promise, to wait for the next full moon in August!!!

Here is a preview of the 108 salutations at Kapari beach!

We would like to thank  Thomas Chrysochoidis for the video coverage of our event.

The practice of 108 sun salutations is a powerful experience that will “stretch” you and change the method you have been using until now.
