Many trainees are wrongly consider rowing as an arm workout. Every dynamic rowing pull is like a kettlebell swing or deadlift. This is because you need to activate your center to transfer power from the legs to the handle. So you need to learn the right technique.
Begin rowing from the catch position, with knees bent, torso angled forward from the hip and arms fully extended with fingers curved around the handle.
Initiate the drive with the legs and continue with the back and arms. To go back, extend your arms, let your core hinge forward, then bend your legs.
Personalized Workout:
- Combine rowing workout with body weight exercises as a full body workout. You can focus on:
- Upper body training with push ups and their variations or with horizontal pull-ups etc.
- Lower body training with squats, lunges and plyometric exercises
- Core training with plank, abs etc.
