Sad has affected 10 millions Americans. The best cure is …intensive aerobic activity instead of swallowing pills. The symptoms of depression, fatigue, gaining weight and loneliness are eliminated. “Aerobic activity is a powerful antidepressant” says Kelly Rohan, Ph. D., a psychologist who wrote about SAD for the Oxford Handbook of Mood Disorders. She also says that even the act of going to the gym to be around other trainees and socialize is helpful.
Bright light also showed improvements in depression. In Northern countries training under bright light and outdoors is the best thing. A study in Psychiatry reveals that aerobic exercise under bright light appears to be more beneficial than other exercise done under typical indoor lighting.
